At DV, growth is embedded into the cultural fabric of the company. Some of our most talented team members started off as interns, and today they're shaping strategy, building products, managing client relationships, and driving results across the business.
We sat down with six employees who made the leap from intern to full-time to hear what drew them in, what challenged them, and what they'd tell the next generation of DV interns.
For some, DV appeared at exactly the right moment. Alicia Cheung, now a Digital Marketing Manager, was finishing her junior year in 2020 when COVID upended the internship landscape. "I was scouring LinkedIn when I came across a posting for a marketing intern at an ad tech company called DoubleVerify. I had no knowledge of the industry, but after doing some research, I was impressed by DV's position as an industry thought leader and the caliber of brands they work with."
Sophia Fasano, now an FP&A Analyst, was drawn to DV's mission. "I thought it was really exciting how DV is using AI to make media measurement more accurate. I've always wanted to make a difference, and I felt like DV does that by helping make the internet a more trustworthy place."
For Callum Rolfe, now an Associate Account Manager in London, it was a full career change from Royal Mail. "I felt I had reached a ceiling. When I saw that an intern programme was available, I knew it was the perfect opportunity."
And Pinaz Shaikh, now a Senior Software Engineer, found something unexpected in a DV job posting that sealed the deal: "If you think you have what it takes but you're not sure that you check every box, apply anyway!" "That small detail," Pinaz says, "said a lot about the kind of company DV is."
What sets DV's internship programme apart is the emphasis on real work with real impact.
Sophia was trusted with two major projects and presented her findings to the entire finance team. "It was intimidating, but it pushed me to communicate with clarity and confidence. That presentation ultimately led to a full-time offer."
Alicia was conducting competitive analyses, writing blog posts, and getting hands-on with Marketo early on. "The most important thing the internship gave me was context — I walked away understanding the industry, DV's mission, and how different teams collaborate."
Callum's eight-week internship was a whirlwind. "From day one I was determined to show initiative. When I was offered a full-time position, I was ready to deliver."
The transition to full-time comes with a shift every one of them felt: ownership.
"As an intern, you have a clear scope, you execute and someone reviews it," says Alicia. "Full-time, I was suddenly responsible for outcomes, not just deliverables. I was owning DV's social media content calendar end-to-end."
Francis Biscocho, now in Corporate IT, puts it simply: "Going full-time meant being the person people came to for answers, which took some getting used to."
For Pinaz, it was understanding the "why" behind her work. "My team was really patient and encouraged me to ask questions, no matter how basic they seemed."
Growth often comes from moments that push you outside your comfort zone.
Pinaz was given the opportunity to mentor an intern in summer 2024 and it terrified her. "I wasn't sure I was knowledgeable enough. My manager helped me understand that mentoring was an opportunity for me to learn and grow, too. The confidence I gained made a real difference in my career."
Callum's turning point came when a colleague returned from leave and praised the quality of his client communications. "It reinforced that everything I was learning was translating into real, tangible impact."
For Eyal Mador, now in Engineering, it was completing his first assignment that directly impacted a major production system, proof that his contributions truly mattered.
And Francis knew things had shifted when his cross-functional collaboration increased: "Getting pulled into things outside my original scope felt like a sign that people trusted my work."
Sophia: "Ask questions, stay genuinely curious. The connections you build and your willingness to learn really go a long way."
Alicia: "Completing your assignments well is the baseline. To stand out, show that you care about the bigger picture."
Pinaz: "Treat your project like a full-time role, not a temporary gig. Don't wait until you check every box to put yourself out there."
Callum: "Be curious, be proactive, and don't hold back. Getting to know your colleagues on a personal level makes everything easier."
Eyal: "Stay curious and hungry for knowledge. Always strive to make a meaningful impact on your team's efforts."
Francis: "Take your role seriously and be someone people can count on. That goes a long way."
From FP&A to Data Engineering, Marketing to Account Management — these six journeys prove that at DoubleVerify, an internship isn't just a line on your CV. It's where careers take shape, confidence is built, and lasting impact begins.
